About

My name is Neil Conlan. I grew up and am currently living in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

I am a masters student in computer science at Concordia University researching information dissemination in networks under the supervision of Hovhannes Harutyunyan.

Aside from my research I enjoy writing algorithms, learning new programming languages (currently teaching myself python), graph theory, quantum information and computation, cryptography and I try to read everything I can about theoretical physics. If I was not studying computer science I probably would have gotten into pure mathematics or physics.

I work as a lead software developer for a small startup internet company where I am in charge of development of our new product which is a kind of distributed file storage and file sharing website.

When i am not coding, working, doing mathematics or reading I am either at H20 MMA practicing my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which I am currently a blue belt or at the gym trying to lift insane amounts of weights. I am into Kettlebell fitness.

I have a dog names Lenny. He is a Weimeraner and needs a lot of exercise which keeps me active by taking him on walks on the street and in the forest near my house.
